Missing my Dad

I can't believe that it has been a year since I last saw my Dad. Time seems to just pass by so fast. I don't think I'll get over the loneliness that I feel everytime I think of my Dad. Things are just different without him. There's this unexplainable emptiness that I feel when I'm reminded of him. I regret not being able to spend more time with him while he was still alive. I feel that I don't have enough memories to share about my Dad. I'm worried I might forget.

I miss him. We all miss him.
I hope and pray he's in a better place now.

When you least expect it

Looking back I would never be able to guess that it was going to happen on June 28, 2008.
Everything just fell into place, there was no hint or clue to even prepare me to what was going to happen. I just remember having a great lunch with my bf at sonya's garden, we even bought some chocolate cake for Iris before proceeding to Bag of beans for some cinnamon raisins bread.
Yum! My bf decided to try a different route going to anilao. We took talisay road for the first time. The views were fantastic...we had to stop over to take some pics. hehehe!

We arrived at Acacia Resort a few minutes past 7 in the evening. I hurriedly carried all my things excited to join the birthday party. Before going down to the dining area, my bf asked if he could use the restroom for a few minutes. I was about to carry all my stuff but was asked to leave them behind and proceed to the dining area.

Going down the stairs, i was really happy and excited to see the rose petals and candles intricately placed by the steps...it was really pretty! I was impressed with their preparations for the party. The path going to the dining area was lighted with candles and with scattered rose petals. I still had no clue...when i reached the dining area i noticed all the lights were out except for the candles...and there it was - the table for two.

Beautifully set up with gorgeous china, complete with wine glasses, napkin, the works! That was when I realized this is not a birthday party...it was a dinner for two people. My bf's cousins were no were to be found. All i can see were shadows of people peeking over the kitchen counter. I also noticed a few cameras clicking away. hahaha. I was really nervous...I wanted to back out. I couldn't help but laugh to mask my nervousness.

My brain wasn't functioning well...I felt funny that they've set up a dinner for us. My bf reminded me that he did promised to surprise me one of these days. This was his surprise. He asked me to take a seat...i remember still laughing at this point...i couldn't believe what was happening. He then handed me a 6x6 box and asked me to open it. I lifted the lid and peeked...it was full of letters...I felt tears rolling down my cheeks. I knew they were mine...in that box were my letters that I have written for him since we were in college.

But why? He reached inside the box and gave me a letter...a letter he had written for me. While i was reading it he left to get something. I could not control my tears

What I've been missing these days...

Only four months had passed and yet there has been so many changes...here are some of the things and people that I've been missing:

1) My Dad - things are quite not right without him. Life will never be the same without him. I miss him every day.
2) Diving! - My last dive was last September...I need to dive again!!!
3) Photography - I don't have the time to experiment with my camera. (H- i promise to use it more often!)
4) Work Life Balance - I can't count how much time I spend thinking about work...doing work...talking on the phone for work, entertaining clients...I need to get back on track and manage my time!
5) Our old condo unit - now that we rented out our condo unit because of a deal that was so hard to refuse...I miss hanging out in our old condo unit.
6) Out of town trips - Ever since my dumaguete trip last september...I have not had the time to go out of town to recharge. Life is unfair!!!
7) Hanging out with the Kyombs - I miss my girlfriends!
8) Taking time off from work - my time is spent thinking about work...work...and more work!
9) Going to the mall - My shopping time is usually spent inside Off Price...that's maximum of 30-45minutes. I can't remember the last time i went shopping inside a mall.
10) I miss Charcoal!

Diving at anilao

Just got back from 2 days of diving in Anilao, Batangas. Took me 3 weeks, after I got PADI
certified Open water Diver, to do some fun dives. Got too busy with my puppy plus we couldn't find anyone to dive with.
Good thing we were able to take some time off at Balai, Anilao for some R&R, celebration of Iris' bday and diving!

Dive 5: Twin Rocks
Dive 6 - Mainit Bubbles
Dive 7 - Mainit Point

Dive 5 was tiring because of the strong current...we literally have to give up swimming and decided to just walk towards Twin Rocks. I was all cranky because of the heavy tank behind my back!!! Once we got to the water...it was just relaxing. Viz was okay the deeper you go. Diving at Twin rocks never fails to brighten my day!

After almost 2 hours ogf waiting, the boat that was going to pick us up at balai finally arrived! I thought we'll never get to dive. Apparently, Dong, our dive master was waiting for a co-diver to arrive. Jegs, went straight to anilao after a 17 hour trip from the US. hahaha! Instead of getting some shut eye...he insisted to diving. hehehe. Anyway, Dive 6 was at Mainit Bubbles...it was something different...i liked the tiny bubbles coming from the sandy bottom. Plus, the marine life from the slope was just great. I didn't even realize that we were already at 110 feet!
Our Dive Instructor reprimanded us...Opps! I was just following my dive buddy! hehehe!

We dropped by Mainit Springs to rest for awhile. Our dive isntructor knows the locals there. We then proceeded to our last dive at Mainit Point. The current was quite strong but we managed to stay together as a group. I enjoyed the drift very much. We saw some blue and black ribbon eels. Too bad we don't have an underwater camera! I was already tired halfway through the dive...I was breathing really fast and shallow. I just hang on to some rocks to slow down my breathing and rest for a while. Jegs, was the first one to give up and ascend...I was about to give up as well but decided to stay down since we were just about 20 ft from the boat.

It was a great diving day! Had too much fun! hehehe! I'm looking forward to my next dive!

I'm contented with winning the contest...the fact that my work has been recognized by my classmates is a great deal already for me. I am truly humbled by this experience. To be honest, I wasn't really expecting to win but I'm not gonna deny that I really wanted to win. hehehe! And the bonus is the prize! I won free Basic Studio Lighting Sessions courtesy of Lightroom!

Thinking things over...

When was the last time you sat down and ponder on things about your so-called- life?

27.March.2006 it has been over a year since I last spent time with myself and just think about things happening in my life. I usually just go with the flow...wherever that takes me. I really only get to think things over if something bad happens. But other than that I'm okay. Is this a sign that I'm at a stage in my life where I seem to be happy to be where I am? Or does this mean I don't think about what's really happening in my life and take things for granted? I really don't know. Well, the fact that I'm writing this down somehow goes to show that I do think about what's going on. Okay so maybe I should start taking life seriously.

Check out Dive!

I often hear people say that once you get into diving, your world will never be the same again. Hmmmm...Well, I'm going to Anilao, Batangas tomorrow for our check out dive.

I'm all excited and a bit apprehensive...this is it! No looking back!
Hope i get to remember everything Dong taught us the past few
weeks!

Will see if my "world" will indeed change...

Wish me luck!

What I'm loving now!

Here are the things I'm LOVING now:

1) Tabblo
- online album is so much fun with Tabblo!
Try it out! http://www.tabblo.com/studio

2) Nikon D40
-I badly need a new camera.
Come to think of it this camera is rather cheap for a compact digital SLR.
It's worth every penny! *hint* hint*

3) My FRANCE Havaianas
- I just love it!

4) Scuba Diving

- I'm currently taking diving lessons
and I'm loving it already.

5) The beach - As always!

Cocobeach, Puerto Galera

The following weekend, we went to Cocobeach, Puerto Galera with the Fluxion peeps.

What a week!

Whew! When I got back from my Caramoan adventure...I was exhausted!

Why?

1) travel time from Manila to Naga -I forgot to mention that from manila it will take you atleast 8 hours to get to Naga City by land. We took the 8pm trip to Naga, so I was asleep most of the time and didn't really notice the long drive. But it was still exhausting!

2) jeepney ride from Naga to Sabang - 2 hours

3) boat trip from sabang to Gota beach - 2 hours. but this one I enjoyed because the views are amazing!

4) the bathroom in Gota Beach - we have to walk atleast 1km to get to the cleanest bathroom!

5) 500+ steps UP going to Our lady of Peace - looks easy but it's tiring...the only reward is the breath taking view when you to the top!

6) 500+ steps DOWN from Our lady of Peace - well, you have to go down right?

7) spelunking in Tagbon Cave - Until now I don't know why I even agreed to go spelunking. It was difficult & dangerous at times!!!

8) boat trip from Gota beach to Sabang - 2 hours. feels sad to leave Caramoan!

9) jeepney ride from Sabang to Naga - 2 hours. We were all tired by this time.

10) wakeboarding - holding on to a cable traveling at high speed...takes a lot of upper body strength

11) bus ride from naga to manila - 10 hours. on our way back to manila, our bus had a problem and we were stranded in God knows where for two hours. They sent a replacement bus to take us to Manila.

But when I try to look back...it's all worth it! would love to go back to Caramoan!

Day 6: Our last day at Naga City

Before heading off back to Manila. We decided to drop by CamSur Watersports complex to try out the much talked about Wakeboarding Center. Let me just say...it wasn't easy (atleast for me) but was a lot of fun nonetheless! Would love to try it again soon!

Tabblo: Wakeboarding @ CamSur Watersports Complex

More pictures of Caramoan

Still can't get enough of Caramoan? Good thing i have more pics!

Day 4: Island Hopping day!

Our last day in Caramoan was dedicated to Island hopping. Due to bad weather conditions the past two days, we have not visited all the islands that was included in our itinerary. So jojo, our guide, made sure we visit Matukad and Malarad.

Come take a look at my pictures and see why I LOVE CARAMOAN!

Day 3: Our Lady of Peace

After our picnic lunch at Aguirangan Island we decided to go straight to Gota beach - our base camp for the next three days. It was my first time to pitch a tent...good thing some mountaineers helped us set up the tent making sure it will be able to stand the strong winds. We feasted on a sumptuous dinner prepared by Jojo's group. We were so tired already we decided to get to bed early.

The next day, we went for a swim in Gota beach and had some breakfast. We then proceeded to our lady of peace and tagbon cave.

Sorry, all i have are pictures taken from our lady of peace...enjoy!

It takes about  500+  steps going up to get to this point.

Day 2: Aguirangan Beach

Day 2 started off around 8:00 am - our meet up place was at the Kadlangan Outdoor Shop in Naga City. We met Jojo Villareal - our tour organizer and the rest of the participants (around 30+ pax). It took us almost two hours to get to Sabang Pier - our jump off point going to the Caramoan Peninsula. There was a slight delay because our jeepney had a flat tire. But everyone is in a good mood so no one even dared to complain.

We arrived at Sabang Pier around 11:30 am. A boat was arranged to take us to Bichara Island where we were supposed to take our lunch. But the weather wasn't cooperating...we ended up at Aguirangan Island for a little picnic lunch...

check out my pics!
